The Insolvency Service has appointed Agilisys to roll out a new business technology to improve the efficiency of the agency, supporting its focus on the delivery of public services.

The Insolvency Service is an executive agency of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) employing around 1,500 staff operating from 22 locations across the country, which provides information and guidance on bankruptcy, company insolvency and misconduct of trading companies and partnerships.

The Insolvency Service will deploy the Unit4 Business World On! Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) web-based platform to provide its employees with a single gateway to access financial information, purchasing and corporate reporting.

Procured via the G-Cloud framework, the solution will enable the delivery of the agency’s Future Finance and Planning Project by both streamlining the agency’s business processes, and by removing duplication and paperwork.

Chris Pleass, finance and commercial director at the Insolvency Service, said: “This is an important part of our plans to continually review and improve the way we work and deliver efficient services for those in financial distress, tackling financial wrongdoing and maximising returns to creditors.

"The new system will make it simpler and quicker to get things done, which will benefit our customers and ensure that we make best use of our budget to deliver frontline services,” he added.
