£100k role will be responsible for the successful delivery of the programme

'Technology platforms for tomorrow' is a programme that has been developed to disaggregate large outsource contracts into both in-house capability and delivery, as well as smaller discrete services. As part of this programme the Home Office has the ability to replace like for like services, as well as use the programme as a basis to provide valued added capability.

The programme director will be accountable for the successful delivery of the programme, maximising the expertise of a team of project managers, delivery partners and technical resources and partners within the infrastructure and platform team and business management functions to ensure that projects and work streams are delivered on time, on budget and to the quality required.  The post-holder will be also working with a large cross section of vendors in the mode of delivery partner as well as buyer.

Applicants will need to demonstrate experience of having supported an organisation of similar size and scope in its transition to a service provision approach, including first-hand experience of having planned and overseen a full programme life cycle from a legacy technology stack to full operational run state.

The candidate should also bring a track record of exceptional programme planning and delivery capability, with experience of maximising appropriate frameworks and methodologies in support of delivery.

The programme director will be accountable to the Director of Infrastructure and Platforms and the Senior Responsible Officer.

The job description specifies that the job is a fixed term appointment for 18 months. The closing date for applications is September 18 with interviews expected to start in October.
